Tattoo Aftercare:
1. Remove the bandage in 3 to 4 hours. DO NOT RE-BANDAGE.
2. Wash your tattoo frequently with an antibacterial soap and hot water. Blot
dry with a clean towel. DO NOT USE ANYTHING ABRASIVE! Your fingertips work best.
Clean this way every hour or as often as possible. (The more frequently your
tattoo is cleaned, the better it will heal.)
3. Do not soak your new tattoo or expose it to salt, chlorinated or fresh water
for at least 3 weeks. Your tattoo must be fully healed before you can go swimming.
4. Apply A and D ointment in a thin coat and wipe away any excess. The skin
should not look shiny or wet. Use this after every cleaning for 2 days.
5. Third day and on: Apply either Lubriderm, Curel or a similar neutral, fragance
free, aloe free lotion to the tattoo throughout the day with freshly washed
hands. A little bit goes a long way. DO NOT OVER MOISTURIZE!! TOO MUCH LOTION
OR A AND D CAN DAMAGE A NEW TATTOO!!
6. DO NOT EXPOSE YOUR NEW TATTOO TO DIRECT SUNLIGHT FOR THREE WEEKS!! (THAT
INCLUDES ARTIFICIAL TANNING BEDS!) After it is healed, avoid sun contact on
your tattoo to prevent color fading and loss of line clarity. If sun cannot
be avoided, apply a good sunblock (SPF 30 or better) to the tattoo.
7. Tattoos peal slightly during the healing process and itch like a sunburn.
THIS IS NORMAL!! DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH OR BE OVERLY FUSSY WITH IT!! Leave it
alone and let your skin heal.

Start by filling a five ounce dixie cup with warm water. Using a clean cotton
swab gently remove all crusty material from around the piercing. Make sure NOT
to rotate the jewelry. After your piercing is crust free, add a drop of PROVON
or liquid DIAL soap to the warm water. Using a new cotton swab gently clean
the jewelry and piercing. RINSE THOROUGHLY to remove any excess soap. In a new
dixie cup mix 4 oz. of warm water to an 1/8th teaspoon of non-iodized sea salt.
Saturate two cotton balls in solution and use as a compress over the piercing.
**For nipples and navels place the dixie cup over the pierced area for 5 minutes.
Rinse and pat dry with a disposable paper towel.

create a lather around the piercing making sure to clean the jewelry as well
as the piercing. Rinse well with warm water and pat dry with a disposable paper
towel.
DO NOT:
-Touch your piercing with unwashed hands
-Play with your piercing
-Overclean your piercing
-Allow your piercing to come in contact with cosmetics, oils, body fluids, lotions,
etc.

-Use alcohol, peroxide, neosporin, tea tree oil, hibicleanse, betadine, iodine,
bactiracin, etc.
-Use face soaps that contain benzoil peroxide
SUGGESTIONS TO AID IN HEALING:
-Adjust clothing as to not irritate your piercing
-Take zinc supplements and eat a healthy diet
-Keep your filthy hands off of your piercing
ALLERGIC REACTIONS, IRRITATIONS, and INFECTIONS:
Anytime there is an opening in the skin there is a chance of infection. However,
INFECTIONS ARE RARE. If you follow the suggested aftercare instructions correctly
and DO NOT PLAY WITH YOUR PIERCING you should be fine.
Often times what could be mistaken for an infection is an irritation. If you
have any concerns, see your piercer. DO NOT REMOVE YOUR JEWELRY IF YOU SUSPECT
AN INFECTION. This can close off any avenues for drainage and trap the infection.
